News: Telkom appoints Retail Insight
Telkom has concluded its advertising account review and pitch, and has announced the appointment of three agencies to take its marketing communications forward.
Integrated agency, Wunderman (WPP), will take over the provision of above-the-line creative and digital marketing, while direct marketing will be managed by Demographica. Retail and brand activations goes to Retail Insight.
Gugulethu Maqetuka, Telkom executive: group communication, in a statement issued to MarkLives, says that these services will be provided to a number of businesses within the Telkom Group, including Consumer and Small Business, BCX, Openserve and Spliceworx.
Telkom logo“Telkom received an overwhelming response from companies to participate in the RFP process and in line with best practice appointed Wunderman (WPP) an integrated firm with international standing as well as two of South Africa’s established direct marketing and retail activation companies with strong B-BBEE credentials, Retail Insight and Demographica,” Maqetuka wrote. “This was an extensive RFP, covering Telkom Group business Units [sic] and five areas of marketing specialisation. Telkom purposefully invited a large number of agencies to pitch, specifically to allow smaller, black-owned and more niched agencies to bid for specific bodies of work.”
